The busiest day for Mac User Group events at Macworld Expo starts early and ends late today, with something for everyone.

If you registered for the Adobe User Group & Professional Association Breakfast, you’ll need to get up early. If you didn’t, you’ll need to get up earlier to get on the Wait List to have a shot at getting in.
At the show, be sure to stop by the User Group Lounge for a does of MacNotable appearances. Scheduled to appear today are Bob LeVitus and Christopher Breen. Chuck Joiner and Nancy Carroll Gravley will deliver presentations on making your Mac User Group a better place, authors and Mac Experts Tom Negrino and Dori Smith will share their expertise, and Deb Shadovitz will talk about being a better presenter.
The Mac User Group Booth will host the Diablo Valley Macintosh Users Group and a second appearance by the North Coast Mac Users Group.
One of the most important sessions of the week will also be held this afternoon at 5 PM in Room 102 of Moscone South. Paul Kent will host a special Town Hall meeting on the future of Macworld Conference & Expo, and all attendees are invited to come and get involved. If you find any value to Macworld Expo, you need to attend this meeting.
Wrapping up the day is the 8th Annual Final Cut Pro User Group SuperMeet. This event always sells out, but you might be able to sneak under the wire if you get there really early.

Is there a user group anywhere who’s members and leaders don’t use Adobe products? If so, let us know. Otherwise, be sure to remind your group’s members to pay special attention on Tuesday, March 27 when Adobe will launch the newest edition of their Creative Suite, v3.
Better yet, you can actually see the launch thanks to a webcast set for 3:30 PM ET, 12:30 PM PT.
The Adobe Creative Suite 2 includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign Adobe GoLive, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Version Cue, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Stock Photos and Dreamweaver 8 so we can expect to see updated versions of at least some of those products, but will there be others? We may have a hint.

Having one or more vendors on the agenda is nothing special for the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (LAFCPUG). They regularly feature some of the top hardware and software manufacturers and publishers in the video industry, along with notable filmmakers, editors and many more. But at their March meeting they will host a guest you might not expect: Adobe.
To quote the LAFCPUG web site, “Huh?”
We learned long ago from LAFCPUG president Michael Horton that filmmakers are always looking for the best tools for the job no matter who makes them.

Adobe will show off their new Creative Suite Production Studio that includes Adobe After Effects 7.0 Professional, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Audition 2.0, Adobe Encore DVD 2.0, and Adobe Illustrator CS2 software along with Adobe Dynamic Link and Adobe Bridge.
If all that wasn’t enough, the meeting will also include Telestream showing off Episode Pro and Pipeline and the “World Famous Raffle.
As always, the meeting is open to the public and a $5 donation is requested at the door. Get all the information on the LAFCPUG web site

The Adobe User Group & Professional Association Breakfast will be the highlight of a busy calendar of Mac User Group events during Mac Expo week. Adobe’s Terry White joins MacVoices on “The Road to Macworld 2007″ to discuss the sold-out event, and the presentations that attendees will be enjoying. That includes Terry showing off not only the newest version of Adobe Photoshop, but also delivering his usual highly confidential surprises. Dave Helmly will demonstrate off something associated with video, and the new Flex Builder will be demonstrated by Ted Patrick.
Adobe has also partnered with a shareware developer to have the raffle at the end of the Breakfast act as the world premier of a new program that will be useful for not just Mac User Groups, but community groups of all kinds. Terry introduces TicketDrum and talks about his part in its development.
Hear all of Terry’s comments on the Breakfast and more on MacVoices #6101, and if you want to learn more about TicketDrum in advance of the premier, you can hear software developer Jack Beckman trace the development of the program and how it grew out of a user group need on MacVoices #6103.
