Macworld Conference & Expo - San Francisco 2006:
Macworld San Francisco Partners with Jambo Networks to Connect Mac Enthusiasts in Proximity

Macworld Conference & ExpoMacworld San Francisco Partners with Jambo Networks to Connect Mac Enthusiasts in Proximity

IDG IDG World Expo has announced that it will be partnering with Jambo Networks to introduce attendees to each other wirelessly at Macworld Conference & Expo®, taking place January 9-13, 2006 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center.

Jambo Networks provides a service to discover and connect people in proximity. Jambo facilitates attendee networking before, during, and after the event. Attendees can download Jambo’s application to their WiFi-enabled devices to discover industry peers, potential customers, old friends, or like-minded Mac enthusiasts nearby. Jambo’s proximity engine works online and offline and can detect others throughout a convention center, hotel, airport, or anywhere else up to 6 blocks away. Jambo also provides an online community site for Macworld attendees to browse other attendees’ profiles.

“Macworld is one of the premier events in the world and is known for showcasing the most innovative technologies for the Mac. Since Jambo offers a Mac-native version of its proximity software, it’s a perfect fit,” said Charles Ribaudo, co-founder of Jambo Networks.

“Jambo provides an innovative way to facilitate attendee networking before, during, and after Macworld. We are excited about using Jambo to bring the Mac community closer together and improve the attendee experience,” said Paul Kent, vice president, IDG World Expo.

Macworld attendees will be able to use Jambo to connect with other fellow attendees throughout the conference, as well as afterwards. Attendees will be able to use Jambo’s software for the Mac and its online community site to discover like-minded Mac enthusiasts they want to meet nearby, wherever they happen to be. Attendees can sign up at www.jambo.net/macworld
