TMC Travel Tips: Stack Up SkyMiles with Delta Credit Card
If you have been keeping up with our Travel Tips section you are already earning miles towards either a Macworld Expo plane fare or a vacation destination of your choice by taking advantage of the opportunity to earn airline miles with your credit card charges.
If you opted for a Delta SkyMiles American Express card, review the promotional literature that accompanies your monthly statement. You can earn double miles by making your federal tax payment online using your Delta SkyMiles American Express card using one of the two payment services they designate.
You will find there is a small processing fee charged by the services, but it is minimal compared to double miles.
On a related note, some levels of the Delta SkyMiles American Express card are paying double miles for such things as fuel (a significant consideration right now if you are the windshield-time type of Road Warrior), charges by the U.S. Postal Service, cell phone billls (another benefit seemingly crafted for the Road Warrior) and more. Pull your credit card terms and check to see if these opportunities apply to you. If not, you may want to consider signing up for a card that offers them.
Don't have a Delta SkyMiles American Express Card yet? If you sign up now, you can get a Gold card with 10,000 bonus miles and no fee for the first year. Not a bad way to start. Check the Delta SkyMiles page on their website for the most up-to-date information on their promotions and options for earning bonus miles.
