Los Angeles Creative Pro Users Group -We are excited to announce that Academy Award winning editor Paul Hirsch will be one of our guests. Paul has collaborated with directors like Brian De Palma, George Lucas, George A. Romero, Herbert Ross, John Hughes and many others. He has edited over forty films, some of which include: Carrie, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, Footloose, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Ray and Mission: Impossible. Paul recently wrote and just published a book detailing his over fifty year career, “A long time ago in a cutting room far, far away.”

Also, AB 5 is now California law and there seems to be a lot of confusion, surrounding it. AB 5 will require businesses to use something called an “ABC” test to figure out if their workers are employees or independent contractors. How will this affect those of us in the entertainment industry? Entertainment lawyer Jonathan Handel will join us to explain what exactly is AB 5, and what effects it might have on you.
