Roam and Apple Italy

present

4ward

Introduction

The new iMac G4 is arriving in Italy. Roam invites you to be amont the first to see and try it in the commercial center UniEuro in Magliana on the 22./23. of February. You may also buy one at this event. Has Roam gone into the advertising business? No, 4ward is solely and exclusively for Roam members.

4ward: Why, Where and When

4ward represents a milestone (hence "forward"): It is the beginning of a close collaboration with Apple Italy. The cooperation is of a cultural nature - in keeping with the goals of Roam (LOCK - Library Of Computer Knowledge). Still, on the occasion of the introduction of the new iMac G4 (the reason for "4ward") we have asked for and have been granted a private and dedicated presentation for Roam members. Apple Italy will be present for a Q&A session to hear our questions, doubts, critical comments and more. The beginnings of the iMac G4 also signals the start of the cooperation between Apple and UniEuro. Thus the Roam members present at the public presentation of the iMac on the 22./23. of February may register for the private presentation (4ward) taking place the week after, exact date based on the number of registrations. It will also take place at UniEuro, but not in the sales area but a separate room. There are two limitations: the number of participants based on the capacity of the room and the modality of the registration: it must be made at UniEuro during the public presentation.

Pricing

There is no entrance fee. But you will have to pay for your own transport and parking and any meals.

Registration

Apple Italy will be distributing a questionnaire at the UniEuro event. Fill it out, register on the spot and keep the coupon at the bottom of the questionnaire with the registration code.

You will then need to enter that code, address and Roam member id on the following web page
<http://www.roam.it/evts/frie/0102/index.html>. You will also be asked for your email and may register family members. If there should be any changes, we will publicize them on this web page.

lafcpug to team up with Boston and New York FCP UGs at the New York DV Show

The New York DV Show is shaping up to be this years largest gathering of FCP users and Gurus in North America and the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) is going to be there.

lafcpug will be meeting Feb 12 at 7:15PM at the New Yorker Hotel, home of the Expo. "This isn't going to be a West Coast meeting ported to the East. This is going to be a East Coast meeting worthy of New York," says Michael Horton, President of the group. "This is going to be largest FCP User Group meting ever assembled on the East Coast and certainly the biggest gathering of FCP users and Gurus assembled in one room during this entire event. And it's FREE."

"We will be bringing in Tom Wolsky, author of the book, Final Cut Pro 2 Editing Workshop who will be demoing offline RT in FCP 3.0 . Cawan Starks, one of the countries most knowledgeable SD and HD Gurus will present the NY premiere of the the KONA-SD 10 bit, RT uncompressed video capture card from AJA.
